Create an EFFECTIVE graphic for display the McNews system

RULES:
  • The piece MUST be exactly 20 seconds in duration at 24fps (480 frames)
  • The canvas size must be 640 x 360 (This is half the standard 720p size)
  • The piece MUST be designed for silent communication
  • The construction of the piece must demonstrate elements of proper tweening, frame by frame, and original illustration

SUGGESTED STEPS:
  • 1. Find a NEED
    • Consult the School Website -
      • look under NEWS (or mcnews.ca)
      • Look at the CLIENTS PAGE on this wiki
      • look at the FRONT PAGE
      • look at the STUDENT LIFE CALENDAR
  • 2. RESEARCH what makes a McNews graphic effective- Observe current McNews promos and and consider
    • Clarity
    • Typography
    • Animation of the graphical elements (fade in/out; keyframing)
  • 3. PRODUCE a STILL graphic
    • Use proper design and typography principles to create an eye-catching graphic
    • Render a JPG and submit for review
  • 4. ANIMATE KEY ELEMENTS
    • Convert key graphics to SYMBOLS
    • Add keyframes at the END of 20 and 25 seconds to "Lock" the final form of the graphic
    • Animate the elements so they move into place BEFORE the "Locked" conclusion

EVALUATION:
  • VISUAL APPEAL
    • Clear demonstration of the Principles of Typography and effective design
    • Skillful and original Illustration (use reference graphics)
    • Proper TECHNICAL FORMAT (640 x 360 @ 24fps)

    • Effective and controlled use of Tweening, (and Frame by Frame if appropriate)
    • Clear demonstration of the Principles of Motion Graphics and animation: Easing, Stretch/Squash,
